3. Seven SeedsAs a cheeky excuse to "being more focused studying with no wi-fi", I tried out Seven Seeds for some breakfast accompanied by my Coles highlighters. I ordered a granola that came with cashew yoghurt as well as slices of strawberries and oranges. The fruits were fresh and the granola consisted of a lot of sunflower seeds, which I love but I would've preferred a little more liquid like milk with the granola as I finished the yoghurt around the side of the bowl pretty quickly. It's quite a filling dish so I actually got the rest as takeaway and go to make two meals out of it (classic college kid)! The sitting areas were all really comfy with creative decos of bikes on walls. 2. Matcha MylkbarMatcha Mylkbar has been a café at the top of my list for a pretty long time ever since I saw their Insta. Although it was pouring down with rain, my friend, Olivia and I were determined to go. I ordered the Matcha pancakes with chocolate sauce, strawberry baobab coconut ice-cream, macadamia and edible flowers which was DELICIOUS. First time I don't actually regret eating ice-cream before 12:00. I would've liked maybe a few more pancakes but after sneaking some of my friend's kumara fries, my stomach had definitely had enough. Liv's is the soy chicken burger, mushroom bacon, avo, beetroot kraut, matcha bun, beetroot humus and kumera fries. Living in NZ, I've never really heard of matcha and these plant-based cafes but the way they cooked the food (especially the burger) to not even seem that different to normal chicken burgers was pretty astonishing. The service was great (especially that waiter who kept on calling us lovelies) and the food came pretty quickly so that's always a plus! 1. Top Paddock SO GOOOOODD!! Okay, probably not the best review ever but it's true. As a spontaneous Friday arvo lunch with Elena, Top Paddock was definitely a good choice. I got the blueberry and ricotta pancakes (I've literally only ordered pancakes from all the cafes I've visited except for seven seeds only because they didn't have it) with berries, maple syrup, seeds and cream. It was so much more filling compared to the Matcha Mylkbar ones, that I actually had to get Elena to share a bit with me! She ordered the Top Paddock (chorizo, pickled onion, peppers, basil, bacon, tomatoes, poached eggs and relish on toast). It was also very filling with amazing colours but not being biased or anything buuttt I'm definitely preferred pancakes haha! We also got a hot choco to share and oly smokes it was creamy and smooth! I mean for $4, it was seriously quite a big cup with impressive latte art and a lot of chocolatey goodness. Definitely (probably not really) worthmy $7 train ride. Best part about moving to Melbourne has been exploring all these different cafes! These were my top three (all personal opinions) but if you guys have any other suggestions please tell me! I'm always up for an adventure :)
